How to Import This Template
Download the Excel file and import your trade data into Notion:
Step 1: Download the Template
Click the download button above to get the Excel file (.xlsx).
Step 2: Open in Excel or Google Sheets
Open the downloaded file to review the structure and column headers.
Step 3: Create a Notion Database
- In Notion, type
/tableand select Table - Full page - Name your database “Trade Journal”
Step 4: Set Up Properties
Add properties matching the Excel columns:
- Date (Date type)
- Symbol (Text)
- Direction (Select: Long, Short)
- Entry Price (Number)
- Exit Price (Number)
- Quantity (Number)
- P&L (Formula:
prop("Exit Price") - prop("Entry Price") * prop("Quantity")) - Setup (Select)
- Notes (Text)
Step 5: Import Your Data
Option A - Manual Copy: Copy rows from Excel and paste directly into Notion’s table view.
Option B - CSV Import:
- Save the Excel file as CSV
- In Notion, click ••• → Merge with CSV
- Upload your CSV file
- Map columns to properties
