How to Import This Template

Download the Excel file and import your trade data into Notion:

Step 1: Download the Template

Step 2: Open in Excel or Google Sheets

Open the downloaded file to review the structure and column headers.

Step 3: Create a Notion Database

  1. In Notion, type /table and select Table - Full page
  2. Name your database “Trade Journal”

Step 4: Set Up Properties

Add properties matching the Excel columns:

  • Date (Date type)
  • Symbol (Text)
  • Direction (Select: Long, Short)
  • Entry Price (Number)
  • Exit Price (Number)
  • Quantity (Number)
  • P&L (Formula: prop("Exit Price") - prop("Entry Price") * prop("Quantity"))
  • Setup (Select)
  • Notes (Text)

Step 5: Import Your Data

Option A - Manual Copy: Copy rows from Excel and paste directly into Notion’s table view.

Option B - CSV Import:

  1. Save the Excel file as CSV
  2. In Notion, click •••Merge with CSV
  3. Upload your CSV file
  4. Map columns to properties
