Frequently Asked Questions

What is India Market Pulse?

India Market Pulse is a real-time dashboard showing Nifty 50, Sensex, Bank Nifty, FII/DII institutional flows, Put-Call Ratio, India VIX, and NSE sector performance. Data refreshes every 5 minutes during NSE trading hours (9:15 AM – 3:30 PM IST).

What does FII/DII data tell traders?

FII (Foreign Institutional Investor) and DII (Domestic Institutional Investor) data shows net buying and selling activity by large institutions. When FIIs are net buyers, it often signals bullish foreign sentiment. When DIIs are net buyers during FII selling, it can indicate domestic support for the market.

How do I read the Put-Call Ratio (PCR)?

The Put-Call Ratio is calculated by dividing total put open interest by total call open interest. A PCR above 1.2 is generally considered bullish (more puts = hedging/fear, contrarian bullish), below 0.8 is bearish (more calls = excessive optimism), and between 0.8-1.2 is neutral.

What does India VIX indicate?

India VIX measures expected market volatility over the next 30 days. A VIX below 15 indicates low volatility (calm markets), 15-20 is normal, 20-30 is elevated (increased uncertainty), and above 30 signals extreme fear.

What are the NSE trading hours?

NSE (National Stock Exchange) is open Monday to Friday, 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM IST. Market Pulse data refreshes every 5 minutes during these hours and every 30 minutes outside trading hours.
